Dr Philip Cheng is the director of Eyecare Concepts | The Myopia Clinic Melbourne. He is a therapeutically endorsed optometrist from University of Melbourne, with over 20 years of clinical experience and a Fellow of the International Academy of Orthokeratology & Myopia Control (FIAOMC). He is world-renowned as a leading practitioner in the area of paediatric optometry, myopia management and orthokeratology night lenses (OrthoK). He is also highly involved in practitioner education and regularly presents and lectures on myopia management, locally and internationally. Philip can consult in English and Cantonese.

Ultimate Eye Health+ Examination

Our most detailed & advanced comprehensive vision test and eye health assessment including 3D-OCT optic nerve and macula scans, and Optos 200° ultra-widefield laser retinal scans.

These tests are recommended for patients concerned about their eye health and those with higher risks of eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and retinal detachment; family history of eye diseases, high myopia and diabetes.

Consultation fee of $150 applies for this appointment. Medicare rebate available pending on your eligibility.

Due to the duration of this appointment type, a $50 reservation fee is required to secure this booking. Our staff will contact you following your appointment request.

SightControl Myopia Management | Assessment

Comprehensive initial assessment of a child, teenager or young adult developing myopia (short-sightedness) for options to prevent or slow their vision deterioration with our SightControl treatment program.

Includes comprehensive eye examination, ocular biometry (measurement of the eyes' axial length) and corneal topography (eye shape measurement).

A referral is not required, but if you have a referral from an optometrist please bring this with you as past history is helpful for this assessment.

$125 consultation fee applies for this service, of which up to $60 is rebatable from Medicare.

Orthokeratology (OrthoK) | Assessment

Initial assessment for suitability of OrthoK night-wear contact lenses.

Includes comprehensive eye examination, imaging, biometry and corneal topography.

$125 consultation fee applies for this service, of which up to $60 is rebatable from Medicare. Credit is applied to patients proceeding with OrthoK Treatment Program. Treatment package fees will be discussed with you following a detailed assessment.

Contact Lens Assessment | New Patient

Assessment and fitting of contact lenses for a new patient to this practice. You may also need a comprehensive vision and eye health examination if you haven't been tested recently.

Contact lens consultation fees range from $40 per visit (existing wearer) to our $180 New Wearer Package including consultations and 1 month supply of daily disposable lenses. Medicare rebate may apply for patients with eligible prescriptions.
